Poem: Samantha's Pain

Pain fills my heart when I think of her pain.
To be torn up inside because of someone's refrain.
A little soul tortured, battered and bruised.
No one cares enough to make him pay his dues.

She stands there with a look of disdain,
Brokenhearted from all of her pain.
Hopeless she looks to the sky for relief
A wishing star is there…
She cries out, "Take away my grief"
"I only want to be with my mommy" she cries
"So that I can have my tears wiped away when I cry.
I just want to be loved constantly
Not yelled at and bruised because I am three."

"Is there a fairy to answer my prayer
Or is it really true what daddy says that no one is there?"
Mommy says that Jesus is there, He will hear me.
But my daddy tells me if I pray, he will beat me.
I am scared so, I don't dare pray.

Maybe one day my small voice will be heard,
Then all of this nightmare that I call life can become just a blur.
