Hi there.
I want to first let you know how thankful I am for all of your prayers, and ask you to please continue to keep my family in your prayers. As, you know I have been going through a horrendous divorce since February 2002. My soon to be ex-husband has been abusing our now 5 year old little girl Samantha since he was given full custody to her in October 2002. In January 2003 my mother, my son Grayson, and I all witnessed him grab her leg so hard that it caused bruises on her. She did not want to leave with Jamie; she never wants to leave with him. He left 3 bruises on her, it was reported to police and Children’s Protective Services and we were told that he was just disciplining her. That it was okay for Jamie to leave bruises on her.
Between April 2003 and October 2003, Samantha sustained over 80 bruises that they all labeled as unexplained. These bruises were in multiples and some were elongated… most were on her back, the back of her legs, buttocks, the bruises on her arms wrapped, thighs in multiples. Every book I read and all the research I did told me that these are abuse related bruises I even found a DIAGRAM to show where abuse bruises were most likely to show up. The information told me that you don’t bruise in patterns either that it is highly unlikely. Samantha told her Sunday school teachers, several police officers, Child Protective Services workers, neighbors and friends that “Daddy hurt me… Daddy grabbed me…. Daddy hit me… ect” All of this was presented to the court, as well as, over 100 pictures of bruises. I documented everything the best that I could. We presented a good case but all the evidence was completely ignored. Even the teacher’s testimony said that Samantha was not a klutzy child and only got one bruise at school on her shin. There were 2 different medical reports and then Samantha was saying things that led us and the police to believe that she was Sexually abused. I won’t go into that. I had to send Grayson to Florida because CPS was trying to take him from me and put him into Jamie’s care. Grayson is scared of Jamie. He has seen and experienced the abuse first hand. Jamie was very abusive to me during our marriage.
The Judge awarded Jamie full legal and full physical custody. Then CPS filed a petition against me saying that I was Medically Negligent. There is no proof of that since I have not had legal or physical rights. My parenting time has consisted of Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 8pm and Saturdays from 4pm until 8pm on Sundays, which has now changed. I get every other weekend and still Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Judge ordered that Samantha must undergo a Psychological Evaluation and they are testing for Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. This is a huge answer to prayers. The Psychologist’s name is Dr. Cathy Calahar. She is retiring and Samantha’s case is her final case. She is over an hour and a half away and therefore there is no small town influence this is a huge blessing and an answer to our prayers. 2 of the other Psychologists that the Prosecutor wanted to use outright refused to take Samantha’s case, they did not want to be involved.
Please pray that Samantha will tell this Psychologist about her abuse and that this Psychologist’s report will prove once and for all that Samantha and I have been telling the TRUTH. God has really been at work through all of this and this entire trial has been a test of my Faith in Him. My whole family has grown very close to Jesus Christ. We have prayed long and hard for God to deliver us from this hard terrible situation and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is faithful and is going to protect Samantha. Please support us by continuing to keep us in your prayers. Pray diligently that we will all be reunited as a family and be back in Florida before summer.
