House Repairs
My house is looking better. We have about ½ of the outside painted. John bought us 5 gallons of red barn stain, which is a little brighter than what was originally on the house. The original color was Redwood… which is like a rusty red color. So this new stain really just brightens up the house. I have cedar shakes that cover my house so it really has been a lot of work painting every single shake. And then all the trim is in white. I have a big front porch that covers the front of the house that has 4 large white columns and a porch swing on the right side. It is very attractive. I stained the porch wood a honey color so it has a wet natural look to it. And then on the back deck which is quite large it is red and white as well… That was very intricate work painting every individual wood piece red and all the trim white to match the house. I am going to re-stain the deck flooring in a natural stain to help preserve and protect it.
Inside the home I have 10 foot ceilings and quite large rooms. I really loved my house when I picked it out… guess that is a plus… heheh... I painted my living room a Spring Green which really brightened up the room. It was so blasé before almost looked like an institution with its white walls. In the winter, which is 9 months out of the year, it was down right depressing. So, the fresh green really has made this room a high point. I am now working on my dining room. The owners before had painted all the door frames dark green and all the molding dark green, then there is a chair rail that is wood color on above the chair rail is wall paper that is paint able and under the chair rail is green with white sponge painting… I am so tired of the green. So, I had decided on painting the all the frames and chair rails a Victorian Garnet – like Mahogany… and under the chair rail I am painting Courtly Rose, which is a deep Mauve, and then I am painting the wall paper a Buttercream/ Victorian Ivory color. It is going to be gorgeous once it is done. But I have to sand all the glossy green paint down to where it is dull. UGHHH… lots of work. I have a lot of work that I still need to do to repair the water damage on my ceiling. Yikes!! I am making a lot of progress on the house, Praise God for opportunity that He has given me to be able to fix my home up. It is such a blessing.
How are things going with you? How is your family? What has the weather been like there? Here in Michigan it was down in the 30’s the other night. I just never know what the weather is going to be like up here. The leaves are beginning to turn different shades already. It is rather sad… summer quickly is going away before it ever came, it seems. Not much time to work on the outside so I really have to get moving and pray for the weather to be nice. We have gotten an over abundance of rain this Spring and Summer. The farmers have not been too happy and now with an early drop in temperature it has killed some of the crops. Does not sound like there will be many Pumpkins this Fall do to the weather. We grow a lot of pumpkins up here.
Please keep Samantha in your prayers she is still being abused by her father… She has had several new bruises from Jamie. Also going to be meeting someone that I have been talking to for several months named Mycheal, so please pray that God’s will be done in that meeting. Pray that my heart does not get hurt if it does not work out. I am under a lot of stress with still waiting to find out what is going to happen with the neglect case that is pending against me. We have not been in court all summer for that case. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. In my relaxation I have been watching the Olympics. I really have always found them very enjoyable.
