4.0 for 2 semesters in a row WOOO HOOO
My mom and Grayson went down to FL with my dad the day my 2nd semester started. And my dad had kidney stones and while he was in the hospital the MRI of his kidney showed a shadow on his kidney. All of this was going on in the early portion of the semester. My first exams. I remember trying to study with all of this going on. My dad was in the hospital almost a week with the stones.
The VA hospital immediately did another MRI and found that it was not a shadow that it was in fact a tumor and all indications was that it was in fact malignant/cancerous. It was about midterms when the surgery date was confirmed and then performed to infact remove his kidney. I had several exams that week that my dad had his surgery. Again they told my mom and dad that the size and its shape made it look cancerous and it was 98% chance so expect the worse. I was going nuts inside. I was balancing work, homework, exams, and then of course Samantha some weeks 5 days and others 3. So, I had no time to relax or even breathe.
The surgery went well. My dad a huge incision in the shape of like a large J or even a backwards C. lots of staples. My dad was supposed to be in ICU for minimum 3 days and they moved him from ICU the next day. He almost fell because he was in severe pain and was not ready to walk yet. I was so angry when mom told me that when they moved dad they forgot to order his Morphine pump to be moved with him and he went 8 hours without pain medication. Well after 8 days in the hospital he was finally released - starving may I add. That food was horrid.
They went in about a week later to get his incision checked and get the test results on the tumor. Praise God it was not cancer. We had a miracle because of so many people praying and because of the Lord's blessed mercy on us. The doctor was in utter shock when he got the results. On top of that, God provided one of the best doctors in his field he was a doctor that was displaced because of Hurricane Katrina from New Orleans. He flew back to LA 2 weeks after my dad's surgery. How awesome God works.
Anyways after having this crazy insane semester. I pulled out a 4.0. I will write a seperate blog on my Gender in Society class.
